Week 10.....dosent seem like its been that long

Hiya everyone!!

Hmmm wow. Im at week 10 already...weird. It doesnt seem like its already been that long. And it doesnt seem like it should be November yet haha I hope everyone had a good halloween last night! I didnt see too many kids out, but thats prolly because we had to come in at 8pm, mission rules.

This past week has been amazing! I have enjoyed doing the work so much this past week and despite the continuing large amouts of rejection, I dont stop in my efforts to share the Gospel with EVERYBODY. I like the challenege this are is giving me anyways haha Some exciting news...one of our investigators is progressing more than she ever has! She attended church the past two Sundays and will be going to a ward activity this tuesday. Things are looking good for her eternal progression. There are some little blockages in her path but I know that she can overcome them and we will be with her the whole way. Hopefully, as I have been impressed to think over the past few days, she will have a baptismal date by the end of this week! Very exciting! Especially since the last baptism was a year ago. So I will keep yall updated in the next email.

One experience that I had this past week that has encouraged me to be more dilligent in the work happened in District Meeting this past thursday. Elder Cadwallader, being our distrct leader, told us to go into a separate room to pray for guidence on what we can improve on in the next week. I said my prayer and opened the scriptures to Jacob 1. In that chapter, my prayer was answered in verses 7,8,19. Read them. I have experience a greater love for the people since then. I want to work with all my heart, might, mind and strength to proclaim the gospel to everyone so that they can feel the promptings of the Holy Ghost and experience its blessings.

I went on my first splits this week! I went with Bro. Hawskings and visited a few less-actives. It was pretty cool slash it felt weird because I was with someone other than my companion haha It was fun though. Oh, funny quick story: I watched this kid fall off of a tree branch and land on his bum so I started clapping at him. He realised where the clapping was coming from and started yelling at me, so I quickly turned around so he couldnt see me and told Elder Cadwallader to hurry up and walk away hahahahahahahaha Its okay though because he was far away from me as I watched from a bridge. I thought it was funny though.

Spiritual thought for the week: I have been studying various materials, namely the scriptures, old ensigns from the 70's and Jesus the Christ, that have been talking about the importance of the Holy Ghost. Everything we know is a byproduct of the promptings of the Holy Ghost. He is the one that has witnessed to us that the Gospel is true. Thanks to the Holy Ghost, we KNOW that our religion is truly the restored gospel of Jesus Christ in the latter-days. Striving to learn more about the third being of the Godhead will help us realise these things. Studying the scriptures well. I know that this church is true and that God lives. Jesus is the Christ and only through Him can we be exalted. Know that we can be exalted. Know that through His atonement, we can be forgive of our sins and shortcomings. I know all of these things to be true. I love this work. I hope everyone has a great week fully of missionary experiences!!

Love you all,

-Elder Jaquish

ps. Look up John 17:3, Mosiah 4:5,8-10, D&C 18:35 and maybe even study the parables in the New Testament!
