Hey yall!
Man, I sure do miss my southern accent haha
Anyways, this past week had been an improvement on last week on all parts of the spectrum. The weather was super nice, people seemed more interested to talk to us, less people flogged and we had a few awesome teaching appointments! Plus we had 7 people at church! (1investigator and 6 returning members)
First update I will give is about the less actives daughter I have mentioned. This past week we taught her the Plan of Salvation, the 10 commandments, Law of Chastity, Sabbath-day, obedience and obey and honor the law of the land. She is doing really well! She is reading the scriptures, praying by herself every night when she goes to bed, going to church and is always excited to learn!! Oh, and i got some good news last week! So remember how I mentioned that she came to see a baptism last Sunday? Well after we taught her on wednesday, her mom said that on the car ride home, said that she wanted me to baptise her!!!! Im excited for that! Its just really cool because 1) Its my first baptism and 2) Her situation is the same as mine when I got baptised, was about the same age/got introduced to the church because my mom decided to come back. The baptism is on the 19th so its creeping up pretty quickly!
Another cool experience we had this week was when we were teaching this less-active, Paul, who has been coming back to church now for a few weeks. We taught him about temple work and also about family history. The lesson went pretty normal, until the end. Somehow we got onto the topic of weird things happening in his home when he first moved in. He was telling us some creepy stuff like exorcism things...I was getting freaked out haha Well we started talking about how as priesthood holders, we can dedicate homes. We read in our missionary handbook what it means to dedicate a home and how to go about it. Paul told us he would like us to dedicate his house to having the Holy Spirit in it and casting out evil stuff; I gave the prayer. It was pretty cool. Definitely a journal type of experience!
Well my time is running short this week so I will leave a spiritual thought. I read this week about a super hero in the Book of Mormon. Can you guess who??? Well I will describe him for you. He is a strong and mighty man. A man of perfect understanding. His soul delights in the liberty and freedom of his country. His heart swells with thanksgiving to the Lord. He labored a lot for the welfare of his people. And his heart was firm in the faith of Jesus Christ. Who is it? I will tell you...its Captain Moroni!!! I love this guy. The scripture in Alma 48:17 explains why. Captain Moroni was such a beast that if everyone would be like him, Satan would not have any power on this earth. The world would be sooo righteous. My goal for this week is to become more like Captain Moroni so that I can shake the very powers of hell! I encourage all of you as well to work on a specific attribute of Captain Moroni this week so that you can shake this place as well! :)
Today will be a fun pday! We are having a zone pday today and will be playing Ultimate Frisbee!!! I cant think of at least one person who is jealous of me! hahaha
Anyways, take care all! Love you guys.
