Top of the morin everyone!!
Things are great here in sunny Wolverhampton. Its beautiful outside today. The green trees and grass and all the beautiful colourful flowers are nice to see as we ride our bikes each day. The only downfall is that the summer will probably be rainy because we arent getting the rain we need in the spring. Oh well, life goes on!
So like I said, this week has been pretty good to us. We have been doing lots of tracting. We just need to find some solid people who want the gospel in their lives. We have so many investigators right now that could be baptise if it weren't for their lack of faith. They just need to act upon the impressions of their heart and hope for a better life through the Atonement and the restoration of Jesus Christ. On Saturday we had some good success. We passed out 3 copies of the Book of Mormon and got 3 return appointments for this week, so I'm excited about that! This one guy we met is a muslim from Kenya. He is a liberal muslim, I think he said, so he is very open to learning about other religions. He puts it this way, he wants us to teach him what our beliefs are and if he gets converted then great, if not, then we can just use him as a "referral person" for others if they dont think we are kosher or something haha Thats wasnt the best explanation of what he said but whatever...
Oh, next awesome experience I had this week happened on Thursday. I went on exchange to Cannock on Wednesday and we were switching back on Thursday. We were running late so we decided to just lock the bikes up to some random pole near the bus station where we were ment to catch a bus and get a taxi. At first, we were just trying to make small talk with the taxi driver so the ride wouldnt be awkward. Soon enough though we were talking about how we are missionaries and what we like to share with people. We taught the driver the lesson about the Restoration of the gospel through Joseph Smith and also what meaning the Book of Mormon has. The taxi driver accepted a copy of the Book of Mormon and our invitation to read a little bit of it and pray to know if its true. Elder Setu got his contact details and made an appointment to see him the next day! Sooooo cool eh? I just love how easy it is now to share the gospel with absolutely anyone in any situation! Its what I have been commissioned to do, so therefore I must do it at all times, in all things, in all places.
Hmmmm, well the spiritual thought for this week will comes from 3 Nephi 6:14. When I read this scripture it reminded me of the second coming. It reminded me how it has been prophesied that many will not be prepared, both physically and spiritually. In this scripture, everyone goes apostate, save only a few of the Lamanites who were truly converted to the faith. They were prepared to withstand the craftiness of the Gadianton Robbers by being "firm, steadfast, immovable and willing with all diligence to keep the commandments." This is how each of us need to be in order to be prepared for the second coming of the Lord. We need to "put off the natural man." We need to stripe away all of our pride and become as a little child who is "submissive, meek, humble, patient, full of love, willing to submit to all things which the Lord seeth fit to inflict upon him..." I know that this church is true! I know that my Redeemer lives! He can and will take away all of our pains and afflictions, all our sorrows, if only we become as little children and have faith in Him.
I love you all and hope that everyone has a successful week in whatever that pursue themselves in.
Cherrio!
